Item 1 (to the right). Box brooch, the original on top from a womans grave, the one below a well formed copy made of bronze. This kind of brooches were carried by the Gotlandic women. Normally they were made of bronze, but could also be made of silver and gold. From 9th-10th Century. Diameter 5.0 cm. |
